Co-Op interest payment work-trade
From EcoReality
This is idea stage only, not a full proposal as of yet.
James and Shannon would like to suggest that members discuss the possibility for those who have monthly mortgage agreements with the Co-Op to work off some of their interest payment.
Considering the EcoReality operating budget, James and Shannon are aware that their interest payment is currently a major source of income for the cooperative, and therefore we need to carefully consider monthly expenses before agreeing to the amount (if any) work trade possible in this area.
James and Shannon have looked at their monthly hours working on Co-Op agreed projects and see that they are working nearly double the agreed 30 hours for residents. They would like 20 extra hours (combined between the two members) to be valued as work trade against their interest payment (eg. $300/month for Shannon and James combined extra 20 hrs).
Note: this needs to be considered with Co-Op operations budget in mind and a plan for balancing that budget over time such that it will support Co-Op goals/expenditures.
Please bring thoughts to the members meeting! Apologies for this late posting Thank youShan 20:31, 24 September 2008 (PDT)
I suggest that an equal amount of paid work should be available to those who do not have internal loans. Jan Steinman 15:34, 29 September 2008 (PDT)
