This is an interpretative work.

The information on this page is interpreted from EcoReality's official bylaws, as filed with our incorporation as a British Columbia Cooperative Association, or from agreements we have formally made by consensus among ourselves, as recorded in meeting minutes.

In case of a conflict, the official bylaws and/or meeting minutes take precedence.

Authors who provide interpretive works should include {{disclaimer}} at the top, and strive to include links to the appropriate bylaw or meeting minutes.

This is a website written and maintained by many people, people who value diversity of opinion, but who also value working towards consensus.

Because of that, there are many levels of "trustworthiness" of the information on this site. You may find pages (in increasing level of trustworthiness) that are:

  1. Empty
Someone created a link, and either spelled it wrong, or didn't get around to filling out the resulting page.
  2. Incomplete
Some pages or sections may have text like "Item 1" or "Put something here!"
  3. Individual opinion
Someone just thought something, and put it up without any review by anyone else.
  4. Discussion
Someone started with an opinion, and others interspersed their comments. Or an agreement (see below) may have such a conversation about possibly changing it on its corresponding discussion tab.
  5. Requests
These are pages that have been discussed (perhaps in some other forum) and are nearing finalization. Such pages begin with a distinctive box — see index of requests for examples.
  6. Interpretative works
These pages seek to tie together different agreements and bylaws, or seek to explain such things in plain English. Such pages generally begin with a distinctive box like the one at the top of this page — see index of interpretative works for examples.
  7. Agreements
These pages have been agreed by members through consensus, and will always begin with a distinctive box — see index of agreements for examples.
  8. Bylaws
These pages contain the legally-binding rules that have been registered with the province of British Columbia.
