This a proposal, open for discussion. It has not been deliberated to consensus by the villagers. It will be agreed, modified, or tabled at the meeting of 20080531.
The purpose of this page is to brainstorm ideas and stewards for the usage of space at the newly acquired Nightingale farm.

Woodshed

Usage options
- I think that this woodshed is too small for both houses. One house could use this one and the other house could build a closer one.
- The shed is adequate for the current wood stoves. Carol and I should be able to finance another wood stove for the big house. If financing is not forthcoming for an additional stove in the old house, then we can probably get by with tarped storage.
Possible income or expense
- New 6 cord shed built from salvaged materials- $300 and 20 hours labour?

Fenced Garden

- In my opinion this space is storage or a working mechanic shop. Not both.

Classroom

- James would be willing to manage usage, booking and money management for classroom space. And I'm open to someone else doing it.
- I think James as Program Steward is a good choice for the Classroom Steward as well
- I'm fine with James managing this space, but we need to stay on good terms with Qi Jong.
Usage options
- Continue renting to Qi Gong group at current rate of $500 per month
- Space for workshops and classes offered by the co-op
- Space for medium-large music gatherings or recording
- Dorm style sleeping if weather is nasty
- Space for Yoga classes/Movement classes/Meditation classes or groups, or personal practice.
Possible income or expense
- $500 per month from Qi Gong group
- depending on Qi Gong group willingness to share space, likely the income from that group would have to be cut, depending on whether they would use it less time than currently. What is their current hourly monthly usage and when is it dispersed. We need to ask these questions of them.
- How about James schedule a meeting with Qi Jong?
- Varying amounts from EcoReality workshops
- Space for Yoga classes/Movement classes/Meditation classes or groups, or personal practice. Classes could be booked to occur outside of time used as Qi Gong, EcoReality workshop or other use. I'd like to work up to 3X weekly, including a daytime for parent+baby yoga/prenatal classes. I see class time having a different hourly rental rate than personal practice. Perhaps as a venue for any personal income-making activity, such as Yoga classes, this space could be $30-40/hr. and as a venue for personal resident usage (wellness rather than income based) it could be free, but the priority for booking time would be for income-activities until a set monthly amount (say $500) is made off the space to the Co-Op?
- We have few revenue sources. Any break we give to Qi Jong for our usage must be made up somehow!

- Until we have new buildings, we will be using this for our own storage.

- Maybe J&C can have a target income amount and any income over that amount gets split with the co-op
- Maybe we should have charged EcoReality rent for lavender drying, too...

- This area does not really exist yet so we would have to create a plan and build it.

- I think we'll have about 10 bikes plus guests with bikes, plus skis, 3 windsufers and misc outdoor gear. I think we should have a covered and secure area to store them.

- Unless we put the biodiesel in the current shop or garage there is no where to put it that is under cover. We may need to build a structure.
