Stunt double

When an important task is delegated to a steward, it is a good idea to at the same time assign a "stunt double" to the task.

The stunt double is generally subservient to the steward, although in some situations, they may be able to "co-steward" the task.

The stunt double should be kept up to date by the steward, so (s)he can take over on short notice if necessary.

The stunt double also has the official duty of "nag", gently and tactfully checking in with the steward from time to time to see that schedule checkpoints and deadlines are being met.
