Talk:Member obligations

From EcoReality

Things are changing rapidly. It has been over a year since we agreed to have a $25 monthly assessment for all members — that was a time at which we only had the four founding members. At that time, James and Shannon had good incomes, and Jan and Carol, while living below the poverty level, were willing to contribute from savings.

I think we should make an effort to aid and reward those who choose to live simply, and suggest that we either waive the $25 monthly assessment for non-resident members below a certain income level, or allow them to exchange the $25 cash obligation with an additional 1:40 of additional labour, on top of the 10 hour obligation.

Resident members receive more value for their assessment, and hopefully don't find it a hardship.
