Ron is a founding incorporator of BC Land Trust Alliance, Community Congress for Economic Change Credit Union in Vancouver and West Coast Islands Conservancy (current chair of this charity). Past board member of COABC & FarmFolk CityFolk. Apprentice organic inspector and longtime apiarist. Now 25 years local market gardener, was 6 years Mayne's natural foods retailer. Other food systems interests are from farmer seed soveirgnty to regional & international wholesale food shipment undertakings. With Latino farmer groups in the 90's did Fairtrade development eg twinning Ometepe with SaltSpring & consolidating their coffee grower organic training program.
