Vehicle steward

A vehicle steward speaks on behalf of a vehicle, and has the following responsibilities:

• making sure it is maintained properly,
• determining usage policies, such as, with examples in italics:
  • where and when it can be driven -- rust-free vehicles not driven in snow
  • who can drive it -- biofuel vehicles may require special training
  • occupancy policy -- make best use of fuel by ride sharing
• resolving usage conflicts,

For privately-owned vehicles, the steward will almost always be the owner, who must still coordinate with the transportation steward, especially regarding parking and other use that impacts the village at large.
